Description
The TP-Link AX3000 Deco Mesh x55 router is a powerful and affordable option for those looking for an easy-to-use router that offers a good range. It has been designed with a focus on improving the Wi-Fi experience in shared spaces, such as apartments or offices, by providing users with the ability to create and manage networks more easily. Additionally, the system comes equipped with TP-Link’s AiProtection feature which helps protect users from online threats and malicious content.
The mesh networking capabilities of the Deco Mesh x55 are excellent. The Deco Mesh X55 creates a large interconnected network (The 3-pack supports up to 6500 Sq.Ft.) where users can roam from room to room and stay connected seamlessly to any of its nodes without disconnecting and reconnecting. This is known as “seamless roaming.”
Deco Mesh X55 – Design And Features:
The TP-Link Deco Mesh X55’s simplistic yet stylish design will make a nice addition to any home. It has a premium-quality feel and modern, aesthetic appearance that will blend in anywhere you put it. Each low-profile node measures 4.5″ high by 4.3″ wide and has its own set of 3 1GB Ethernet ports. Unlike gaming routers that are designed for flat-out speed and throughput in close quarters. Mesh systems are designed to spread the Wi-Fi wealth and provide strong coverage in medium to large homes. That’s not to say the X55 is slow. It employs the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology including MU-MIMO and Beamforming support with a total bandwidth of 3,000Mbps. It can provide full coverage in homes up to 6,500 square feet and can maintain connections to as many as 150 devices! The dual-band Deco X55 pumps out 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 2,402 Mbps on the 5GHz band. Its Wi-Fi 6 protocol is backward compatible with Wi-Fi 5,4, and 3. Each node contains 2 internal antennas and a 1GHz Quad-core processor. That comes out to 3GHz of processing power on your home network. You’ll find all the latest technologies such as MU-MIMO, Beamforming, WPA3 encryption, OFDMA, and band steering. TP-Link typically does not shy away from employing all the available technology of the day in their products. Deco X55’s revolutionary AI-Driven Mesh System intelligently adjusts to your home network environment to provide ideal coverage in all areas of your home. The TP-Link AX3000 Deco X55 is a true Dead Zone Killer. Once you have one of these it’s time to put your Wi-Fi extenders on eBay. You won’t be needing them anymore. TP-Link’s HomeShield Service provides both premium and free features. The free features include and Network Security Scan, IoT (Internet Of Things) home automation device identification, Basic Parental Controls, and basic QoS configuration options. Premium features cost $5.99 a month and provide a more robust set of features. There’s a 1-Month free trial to check it out.
Easy Setup:
TP-Link’s Deco Mesh x55 routers are a new breed of mesh routers that focus on aesthetics and ease of use. With a sleek, modern design and an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), the TP-Link Deco Mesh x55 routers make setting up your home network easy. The router also has a variety of features that set it apart from other mesh routers on the market. Setup is a breeze using the smartphone app. It’s extremely intuitive and easy to follow. Once you create an account the app declares “Let’s begin.” and you’re on your way. The setup of the Deco Mesh X55 is almost identical to what you’ll find in my Deco Mesh M5 setup video. Simply connect the primary Deco X55 node to the modem, power cycle them both and you’re off and running. The animated screens are a no-brainer to follow. You’ll provide your first node with a location, name your network and have it connected before you know it. Once the first node is set up the app will walk you through the others. You can connect up to 10 nodes to your TP-Link Mesh network.
Satisfying Performance:
TP-Link’s AX3000 Deco Mesh router is a great option for those who are looking for a high-performing Wi-Fi solution. The router features an impressive number of features, including Beamforming+, AiRadar, and dual-band speeds of up to 3200Mbps on the 5GHz band and 800Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. The router also comes with a built-in app that makes setup and configuration easy. Overall, the TP-Link AX3000 Deco Mesh router is a great choice for those looking for high-performance Wi-Fi at an affordable price. While the TP-Link Deco Mesh X55 lacks the Google Nest’s speakers and microphones to control IoT devices it surpassed the Nest in terms of speed mainly because of its Wi-Fi 6 capabilities. The mesh Wi-Fi system that gave the Deco X55 a run for its money in terms of sheer speed was Amazon Eero Pro 6. It must be noted, however, that the Eero Pro uses a dedicated third band for communication between nodes while the Deco X55 must use both its dual bands for communication with devices. The Deco Mesh X55 did lose considerable speed in certain back rooms compared to the Eero Pro but the Eero is also several hundred dollars more expensive than the Deco X55. From this perspective, the TP-Link provides a fantastic value. The Deco Mesh X55 supports both Alex and Google Assistant. Triggers can be created in the app that controls smart lights, plugs, switches, and outlets.

TP-Link’s new Deco Mesh product line includes a variety of routers with different capabilities. All of them are designed to be easy to use and have a minimalist design. The Deco Mesh X55 is TP-Link’s most affordable Wi-Fi 6 mesh system in the Deco Mesh lineup, and it has some great features for a budget router. Of all the mesh systems out there the Deco X55 should be at the top of anyone’s list in terms of value. You simply cannot do better for the price in terms of range, Wi-Fi 6 speed, number of devices, and ease of setup.
