By default, the Speedefy AC2100 uses a Smart Connect-like feature to merge these two bands into one and assign devices according to their speed and bandwidth requirements. For example, you may not want printers or a slow laptop dragging down your 5GHz band while you’re on your favorite game console. The router also includes other must-have features such as Parental Controls, a guest network to allow visitors to use your Internet connection, and complete WPA2 encryption to ensure your data is safe. The router is equipped with 4X4 MU-MIMO and Beamforming technology, which help you optimize your Wi-Fi signal to reach every corner of your home. Speaking of “bare bones” the router has only 3 built-in 1 GB Ethernet ports instead of the usual 4. These let you connect wired devices like your computer, printer, or gaming console. This may be less important to those who rely on pure Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Speedify 2.4GHz band speeds are nothing to write home about – 300Mbps tops. Its 5GHz speeds were actually comparable to the “TP-Link Archer AX21” a new Wi-Fi 6 router with a lot more features. Its coverage area was good up to 2,000 to 2,500 square feet. If you have a large home and you’re looking to maximize your coverage area while staying in this price range the Deco Mesh with two nodes is worth looking into.
