Description
Performance
The D-Link AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band is powered by a Broadcom dual-core 1GHz processor, which helps its throughput stats. It can reach max speeds of up to 3,200Mbps (600Mbps for the 2.4GHz band and 1,300Mbps for each of the two 5GHz bands). It’s good to note that the second 5GHz band is only used when more than one device tries to connect to the router, which is pretty helpful when devices of different Wi-Fi standards need to link up. This essentially allows each device to run at its fastest speed without affecting each other, meaning no one will interfere with your gaming no matter what device they are on.

Users also have the option to use this gaming router as either three different Wi-Fi networks, with each of the bands, or combine them all into one single network via the router’s Smart Connect mode. When you do this, the router will automatically connect each device to the best band for their connection.
Design and Setup
When you turn over the machine, you’ll see the usual number of network ports, including four Gigabit LAN ports, one Gigabit Internet WAN port, one USB 2.0, and one USB 3.0, which you can use to connect a printer or external hard drive.
Setting up the D-Link AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band is easy since it already comes pre-configured with its own Wi-Fi network and password. Then once you log onto its web user interface, it’s pretty smooth sailing to customize all of your settings. Here the homepage displays connected devices, the status of your Internet, and more.
There are also separate settings where you can manually configure the gaming router to set your own password and more. And assigning bandwidth priorities is a cinch with the easy QoS drag-and-drop feature, allowing you to put your gaming needs first and foremost!

Conclusion
The D-Link AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band is a thing of beauty. Not only is it beautiful to look at it’s no slouch in terms of sheer performance. Unfortunately, it’s lacking certain features you would expect to find in a wireless router of this caliber such as MU-MIMO and VPN support. It’s now a discontinued model but it’s still a steal if you can get a good used one on Amazon or eBay.
